Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

DPViewer ("DPViewer", "we", "us") operates dpviewer.com, a free tool for downloading public Instagram videos and viewing public profile pictures across several platforms. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. DPViewer is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram, Meta, or any other platform referenced on this site.

The short version

Information we collect

Information you provide

DPViewer's core feature - pasting a public link to fetch a video or profile picture - doesn't require you to create an account, sign in, or give us your name, email, or any other personal detail. The only input you provide is the link itself.

Information collected automatically

Like virtually any website, our server automatically logs standard technical data for every request, including:

This data is used solely to operate the service, enforce rate limits that stop automated abuse, and diagnose problems. Logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted - we don't build advertising profiles from them.

What we don't do

Advertising & cookies

DPViewer is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This is standard "interest-based advertising."

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or more broadly through the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page. Google's own use of advertising cookies is described in its Advertising Policy.

We don't currently show a cookie-consent banner because DPViewer sets no first-party tracking cookies of its own; any cookies you see are set by the advertising network described above, consistent with their own policies.

Third-party services

To do its job, DPViewer connects to Instagram's and other platforms' own public servers to fetch the content you request - that's an inherent part of how the tool works, not data sharing on our part. We also use:

Data security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we handle, including serving the site exclusively over HTTPS and keeping operational logs outside of public-facing storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we don't retain the kind of sensitive data (passwords, payment details, personal profiles) that would make DPViewer a high-value target.

Children's privacy

DPViewer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of data associated with you (for example, under GDPR or CCPA). Because DPViewer doesn't tie requests to an account or identity, most of what we hold is anonymous technical logs. If you believe we hold identifiable data about you and want it reviewed or removed, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the service or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of DPViewer after an update means you accept the revised policy.
